How to sew an invisible zipper in clo 3d quick and easy

How to Sew an Invisible Zipper in CLO3D Tutorial

By the end of this video, you will know how to sew an invisible zipper on a skirt quick and easy in clo3d.

We are going to sew the invisible zipper onto the skirt. To do so, go to the menu then select Materials and click on it. After that, com to the Zipper, hover your mouse over, then to the right click on Zipper.

After we selected the Zipper, we will see this zigged zag line on the skirt which means we are ready to apply the zipper.

Next, we are going to start sewing the zipper. Click once to begin then hover over the line and come down toward the zipper endpoint and double click to stop the zipper endpoint. Repeat the step on the opposite side. Click once on the starting point then double click to stop the zipper.

To complete the sewing we are going to sew from the zipper endpoint to the bottom of the skirt. To do so, we are going to use a Free Sewing Tool for it.

Come to the 2d workspace, then select the Free Sewing Tool in the toolbar. Next, come down here to the skirt pattern and hover your mouse over the zipper endpoint if you look over to the skirt in the 3d window you will see where the zipper endpoint is located.

Then, click once to begin the sewing then hover over the line and come down to the bottom of the skirt then click to stop the sewing point. Next, we are going to do the same with the opposite side. Again, click to start the point and click again to end the sewing point.

Now, we are going to hit the simulation button to simulate or hit the spacebar on the keyboard. And of course the zipper looks terrible. But no worry we are going to fix it.

There are three things wrong with the zipper. One, we do not have the invisible zipper pull, and two the zipper is too big. As you know the invisible zipper meant that we can’t see the zipper. Finally, the color of the zipper does not match the skirt.

So, we are going to fix it.

To fix the zipper pull: go to the Select/Move tool, click on it, or if you don’t see the tool just click on this simulation tool to get to the Select/Move tool. Click on it, then come back and click on the zipper pull to select. While the zipper pull is still selected, go to the Property Editor and scroll down to the puller.

Next to the puller click on this arrow then we will see many zippers pulls. And we are going to select one of the invisible zippers-pull by clicking on it. Be sure to hit the Simulation Tool or the Spacebar to simulate, this allows you to see the effect of the changes.

To fix the zipper: To do so, again go to the Select/Move tool in the 3d toolbar and click on the tool to select. Then come back down and click on the zipper while the zipper is selected go to the Property Editor and we want to change the zipper width to 0.10.

To change the zipper color: we will need to change the zipper pull as well as the zipper. To do so, go to the Select/Move Tool and click on it. While the tool is still active select the zipper-pull and go to the Property Editor Panel and scroll down to color and click on this color swatch. This brings you to the color swatch panel where you can select any color you would like.

For this example, we are going to select a dark red color to match the skirt. We will repeat the step with the zipper. Go to the Select/Move tool, then while the tool is still active. Click on the zipper to select it. Then, go to the Property Editor Panel and scroll down to Color and click on the color swatch. This brings you the Color Swatch Panel where you can change the color of the zipper. Be sure to hit the simulation tool or the spacebar to simulate before you can see the changes in the zipper.
