How to use a polygon tool in the clo3d 2020 tutorial

In this video, I’m going to share with you tips about using the polygon tool in clo3d. There are three things you must know about the polygon tool in clo3d 2020. Hi, I’m Rose from Encoder Fashion.

Tips about Using the Polygon Tool in CLO3D

  1. Click one to begin the point and must come back to that starting point to finish.
  2. The pink line appears when: for example, 1) if you place your cursor over the centerline, 2) if you draw a straight line, and lastly if you draw while you are having another pattern near it.
  3. Click and drag to create a curve.
  4. The pink line doesn’t show if you draw in a diagonal line or no other points.

How to Use the Polygon Tool in CLO3D 2020

Option 1: where is the polygon tool?

The polygon tool is located in the CLO 2D toolbar. I’m going to go to the 2D toolbar and click on the Polygon tool.

Option 2: how to use the polygon tool?

Again, while the polygon tool is still active, I’m going to click once to place a point, then continue clicking. After that, you come back to your first point and click on it to finish.

Note: if you want to create a curve, you click and drag.

Option 3: what do we use the polygon tool for?

We use the polygon tool to draft clothing patterns as well as fashion accessory patterns. For this example, I’m going to use the polygon tool to draft a simple dress pattern.

Again, I’m in the CLO 2D window. I’m going to go to the 2D toolbar and click on the polygon tool. Then, begin by clicking from the high point shoulder to the low point shoulder. Next, click and drag to create a curve for the armhole.

After that, click the underarm hole to place a point. Then, continue to click on the waist point, hip point, and hem point. Now, come to the center line and click to place a point, after that come back up to finish the point by clicking on the point which I started.
