Why Auto Grading Does Not Work CLO 3D

A step-by-step on how to fix why auto-grading does not work in CLO3D. Yes, grading can be daunting and complicated. However, CLO3D software and some basic understanding would make grading much simpler and more accurate with only a few clicks away. To get a better understanding of the sizes, I have links below that have these Alvanon’s size charts where CLO3D uses for all their Avatar sizes from children, petite, missy, etc.

If you are new to grading and feel frustrated please see these size chart links below and prints them out to see how the sizes shift from one to the next. This will help to clarify some confusion and it will come in handy later when you started to customize your avatar sizes.

Step-by-Step: How to Fix Auto-Grading CLO3D

  1. Convert unnecessary points to curve points 
  2. Save the project file as Garment
  3. Select the avatar size as needed it
  4. Delete the project
  5. Ad the Garment file back to the work-space
  6. Change the particle distance to 20
  7. Grading Tap
  8. Make a Size Group
  9. Re-name the pattern from “Size 1” to M or any sizes you prefer
  10. Make more spaces between each pattern pieces
  11. Assign the Grading > marquee to select all pattern pieces > Click on the Twirling Arrow to assign
  12. Important Note: be sure to check the sizes of the avatar, the particle distance
  13. Click on the auto-grading: a window pup-up: Maintain Pattern Curvature: 100%, Leave everything as is unless you have graphics on your patterns
  14. Click on OK
  15. Strengthen the pattern
  16. Simulate
  17. Select Transparent Surface
