What to expect from fashion design students? It is a requirement for students to take the Intro to Fashion course. I was a fashion design student at Santa Fe Community College myself. I recommend students to take this course as soon as they enrolled in a fashion major.
I learned how to sketch the designs as well as learned about fashion history from the “Intro to Fashion” Course.
Course Requirements
- The Dynamics of Fashion book
- Reading the “Dynamics of Fashion” book (chapter assigned by the professor)
- Taking an online quiz every week (assigned by the professor)
- Do research on a fashion designer and write a one-page report including sketching one of the designs influenced by that designer
- The course also comes with midterm and final exams

Klein encountered increased pressure from all sides including disagreements with the menswear line, disappointing sales, enormous employee turnover, and the stock market crash. Klein’s company faced bankruptcy. Klein managed to get out of debt. He sold his company to Phillips Van Heusen Corp (PVH) for $400 million and about 300 million in stocks.
