I hope your day is going well. I'm Rose Willey. In today's video, I'll show you how to create three fundamental pant pattern blocks using CLO 3D's "Parametric Pattern" auto pattern-making tool.

We'll make short pants, straight pants, and skinny pants in a step-by-step process, and I'll share some tips and tricks along the way.

Here are the three pant variations:
  1. Short pants
  2. Straight pants
  3. Skinny pants
Short Pants To make short pants, follow these steps:
  1. Go to the menu
  2. Select "Editor"
  3. Choose "Parametric Pattern"
  4. Create the pattern
For the short front and back pattern blocks, here are the measurement and guideline steps:
  1. Access the edit pattern tool
  2. Extend the vertical line to 50 cm
  3. Ensure the "Create Internal Line box" is checked
  4. Set the side segment type to "Default Corner, Mirror"
  5. Cut both patterns
Next, create the internal lines from waist to hem:
  1. 3 cm
  2. 9 cm
  3. 11 cm
  4. 22 cm
Finally, create one internal line from center to side seam:
  1. Front/Back: Same length as the waistline (17.47 cm)
Back waistline
  1. Extend the back waistline by 2 cm
  2. Uncheck the "Create Internal Line box"
  3. Set the side segment type to "Default Corner, Extend"
Crotches: Front and Back
  1. Access the edit pattern tool
  2. Front: extend 4 cm
  3. Back: extend 10 cm
  4. Remove the center line point
  5. Uncheck the "Create Internal Line box"
  6. Set the side segment type to "Default Corner, Extend"
Creating points via internal lines
  1. Access the edit pattern tool
  2. Select the hip line and waist circumference line
  3. Extend or trim, then add points to the pattern outline
Converting internal lines to baselines
  1. Lock all pattern outlines
  2. Use the marquee tool to select all internal lines, then convert to baselines
  3. Lock all baselines
  4. Unlock all pattern outlines
Crotch lines: Front and Back
  1. Draw a line from the crotch to the waistline
  2. Add a point on the line
  3. Use the "Smooth Curve Tool" to create a curve
  4. Front: 50% split at 3
  5. Back: 50% split at 10
In-seam and Side-seam: Front and Back
Front pattern
  1. In-seam: Draw a line from the center line to the crotch line
  2. Side-seam: Draw a line from the waist circumference line to the hip line
Back pattern
  1. In-seam: Create a 4 cm point from the center line
  2. Side-seam: Draw a line from the waist circumference line to the hip line
Creating hip curve
  1. Click on the hip point, then drag outward and right-click to extend 0.7 cm
  2. Draw a line from the waist circumference line to the hip line
  3. Use the "Smooth Curve Tool" to create a curve
  4. Front: 50% split at 7
Creating center lines
  1. Split the pant hem in half
  2. Create an internal line from hem to waist
Creating waistbands
  1. Measure 1/4 of a waist circumference (17.47 cm)
  2. Unfold it to width (34.94 cm)
  3. Create a waistband height: of 3 cm
Cutting the patterns
  1. Transform pattern Tool
  2. Begin cutting the center, inseam, side seam, then waistline
Loading the Avatar
  1. Avatar_V2
  2. Camila
  3. Double-click to load her to the workspace
Sewing half of the pant patterns
  1. Segment sewing tool or free sewing tool
  2. Place the pants pattern onto the avatar
  3. Make a symmetry sewing with patterns
  4. Finish sewing the pant
Option #2
Making straight pants
  1. Edit pattern tool
  2. Extend both front and back pant patterns: 50 (Perpendicular)
  3. Adjust the sewing line
  4. Strengthening the patterns
  5. Reset 3D pattern select
Options #3
Making skinny pants
  1. Add point to pant hems, 2 cm from in-seam and 2 cm from side-seam
  2. Remove outer points
  3. Adjust the sewing line
  4. Strengthening the patterns
  5. Reset 3D pattern select
