How to Grade Simple Top Patterns in CLO3D


A step-by-step on how to grade a simple top in CLO3D. Yes, grading can be daunting and complicated. However, CLO3D and some basic understanding would make grading much simpler and more accurate within only a few clicks. This video will show you, some tips that make grading easy and efficient. Grading Guide for a Simple Top CLO3D

  1. Convert unnecessary points to curve points
  2. Save the project file as Garment
  3. Select the avatar size as needed it
  4. Delete the project
  5. Ad the Garment file back to the work-space
  6. Change the particle distance to 20
  7. Grading Tap
  8. Make a Size Group
  9. Re-name the pattern from Size 1 to S, M, or any size you prefer
  10. Make more spaces between each pattern piece
  11. Assign the Grading > marquee to select all patterns > Click on the Twirling Arrow to assign
  12. Important Note: be sure to check the sizes of the avatar, and the particle distance.
  13. Click on the auto-grading: a window pup-up: Maintain Pattern Curvature: 100%, Leave everything as is unless you have graphics on your patterns.
  14. Click on OK.
  15. Strengthen the pattern
  16. Simulate
  17. Select Transparent Surface
