By the end of this video, you will know how to animate in clo3d as well as the know-how to download the missing codecs which allow you to record and export the animation from CLO3D so you can share it on social media such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
How to Open CLO3D
Go to clo3d double-click on it to lunch clo.
How to Select the Avatar in CLO3D
Go to the folder in the Asset area below the library panel double click on the folder to open > open Female_V1 double click on the folder to open > FV1_Ema.avt double click on her to load her into the clo workspace.
Where Is Animation Window in CLO3D
Go to the animation tap which is under ‘SIMULATION’ tap click on the pointing down arrow to expand. Then, select the ‘ANIMATION’ by clicking on it. After that, the ‘Information’ panel pup up, click OK.
How to Get Motion in CLO3D
After opening the ‘animation window’ go to the motion folder which is in the asset panel right below the library panel. Double click on the ‘motion folder’ to open. Now, select the first motion by double click on it. After double click on the motion, the Open Motion panel pop up, leaving everything checked, and by default, it is 30 frame per second (30.000 FPS). Then, click OK. Note: you will see a blue line appear in the timeline.
How to Download Codecs for CLO3D for Window
After loading the motion onto the avatar, go to File > Video > Animation and here the message appears “Codecs required to playback the video files are missing. Please confirm that all the following codecs are installed:” 1) Lagarith Lossless and 2) Xvid Mpeg-4. Note: we have to download both codecs before we can record and export the animation. I’m going to share with you step by step on how to do it.
How to Download Lagarith Lossless Codec
Number 1: click on the first link (Lagarith Lossless). This brings you to the website so you can download the codec. Click on the file called “Download Lagarith Lossless Video Codec 1.3.27.) If you see the bottom of the webpage you will codec is loading, as soon as it is fully loaded you click on the arrow, and select open after that you will see the prompt “ Do you want to install this app…” just click yes > Next > Finish.
How to Download Xvid Mpeg-4 Codec
Number 2: click on the second link (Xvid Mpeg-4). This brings you to the codec’s website so you can download the codec. Click on the file called (Xvid for Window Mirror 1) to download the codec. Next, see below the webpage the file is loading. After the file is loaded, click on the arrow and select open to install the file, then click yes.
Now, select your language. I’m going to select English and click OK > Next > select “I accept the agreement” and click on Next > Next > select “Yes, automatically notify me when updates are available” and click Next > check all the boxes under “Use Xvid to playback also the following media types:”
Record and Export the Animation
After installing both codecs, now it is time to animate, record, and export the animation. To do so go to File > Video Capture > Animation. This time you see the Animation Panel appear below in the right corner. Important note: under the Video size, we want to change the width to 1920 and the height to 1080. And below the Video Code select Lagarith Lossless. After that select the video icon to record. After recording, click on the right video icon to save the file. This brings you to the play or replay panel, you can click on the pay bottom to play the animation if you like the animation, you can click on Save, be sure to name your file, and click save.
Note: the animation file is .avi, you can play this file with many video editing software, but it is not a comment file that you can’t share on social media.
Note: be sure to save your clo file, so you can work on it later. After saving the file, now you can close clo by clicking on the x to the top right or go to file and click Quit.
How to Share CLO3D Animation Step by Step
To share the animation, on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, I’m going to use Premiere Pro video editor to do it. I’m going to open Premiere Pro. Then click on the New Project > Name your project, click on Browse to save your project, choose where to save your project, then select save.
Now, we are in Premiere Pro > Editing > Project Panel (double click on it to import your video file) > drag the file into the Timeline > Export the file (Ctrl + M) > Format (H.264), Preset (YouTube 1080P Full HD) for you YouTube or if you want to share with Instagram and Facebook instead of selecting YouTube 1080P, we are going to select (Mobile Device 720P HD).
Output Name: click on this link to navigate to where you want to save your file, be sure to name your file. Next, come to Source Range and select Entire Sequence. Finally, click Export.
Now, we can go to the file which we just saved earlier, and click on it. Again, this file you can upload to YouTube or share with your friends and family.
