Fixing Line Between Patterns in Adobe Illustrator

Hello Designistas, welcome to Encoder FashionI’m Rose. And today I’m very excited to share with you guys the solution to fix white lines on pattern Swatches in Adobe Illustrator CC 2019.

So, first of all, let me show you this is an example of my men’s fashion flat shirt and you can see these lines on the shirt which we do not want on the artwork. I can’t wait to share the solution to this problem.

Now let’s go to my desktop and I’m going to share with you step by step on how to do it. Are you ready? Let’s go.

Now we are landing on my Adobe Illustrator workspace and here are my male shirts. Again, these are my two shirts front and back. One of the shirts is in an adobe illustrator file and another is in a jpeg file. You can see right away the lines appear on the sleeve here and down here on the bodice of the shirt as well on both of the sleeves here.

Important tips: to get the perfect result of your artwork, be sure to export your artwork as jpegs and review them because it is easier to look for any lines or flows on your artwork after the file is compressed.

Again, to enable us to fix this problem, we are going to the swatch panel. Then double click on the swatch that you use to apply to your artwork or in this case I will double click on the swatch that I use to apply on my shirt earlier.

After you double click on the swatch. This Pattern Options panel appears. This panel allows you to fix the lines problem.  Right away you can see these lines in the area. Now, go to the top left corner and click on the pattern tile tool.

This tool allows you to adjust your swatch. After that, you click on the corner of your swatch and drag it in until you don’t see the lines. You see how the line disappears when dragging in and opposite if I drag out the lines started to appear. We do not want the lines, so again we are going to click and drag them in. After that, you click on done up hear.

Now, we are going to apply that swatch to the shirt. After that, we are going to test it by exporting it as a jpeg. And we can review it together. Tada, now all the lines are disappeared.

Thanks, again for watching Designistas, I am so happy to share this solution with you. Please like and subscribe for more awesome videos. I’m Rose and you can design anything.
