How to Make a T-Shirt in CLO 3D: A Step-by-Step Tutorial

Hello Designistas! I'm Rose, and today I'm thrilled to guide you through the process of creating a fabulous t-shirt using the traditional pattern drafting method in CLO 3D. This step-by-step tutorial will take you from the initial measurements to the finishing touches, ensuring you end up with a stunning virtual garment. Let's dive in!

Step 1: Gathering Measurements

Here's what you'll need:
  1. Top Length: 74
  2. Bust Circumference: 24
  3. Waist Circumference: 22
  4. Hip Circumference: 24.5
  5. Shoulder Length: 21
  6. Hip-L: 61
  7. Sleeve Length: 27
  8. Sleeve Circumference: 18
  9. High Point Shoulder to Waist-Front/Back: 35, 38
  10. Neck-B-D: (B, F) 4, 12
  11. Neckband-H: 2

Notes: most measurements are in 1/4 (Centimeters).

Step 2: Applying Formulas

  1. Now, let's put those formulas to work:
  2. Shoulder Slope-Back Internal Line Depth: 1.5, 4
  3. Shoulder Slope-Front Internal Line Depth: 1, 1.5
  4. Armhole Depth: Full shoulder length divided by 2 + 4 (Example: 42/2 = 21 + 4 = 25)
  5. Dart Line: 8.5; also, a Neck Width
  6. Sleeve Cap Depth: 12
  7. Bicep: Measure a finished front and back armholes, divide by 2, then subtract 4 (Example: xx.xx/2 = xx. xx - 4 = xx. xx)
  8. Extend 1 cm to Pattern front hem. Then, decrease 1 cm side seam (refers to the video)
  9. Notches: 9, 11 (2 on the Sleeve-cap-B, 1 on the Sleeve-cap-F).

Step 3: Shrinkage/Elasticity

  1. Shrinkage: 90 percent (neckband)
  2. Elastic: Neckband: 5 and 90

Step 4: Adding Topstitches

  1. Binding-Single: Single topstitches with Offsets: 0, Shape: Single, Face: Front, Number of lines: 1.
  2. Neck-All-Single: Single topstitches with Offsets: 1/16, Shape: Single, Face: Front, Number of lines: 1.
  3. Neck-F-Overlock: Overlock topstitches with Offsets: 1/8, Shape: Overlock, Face: Back, Number of lines: 1.
  4. Sleeve/Hems-F-Double: Double topstitches with Offsets: 0, Shape: Custom, Face: Front, Number of lines: 2.
  5. Sleeve/Hems-F-Overlock: Overlock topstitches with Offsets: 1/8, Shape: Overlock, Face: Front, Number of lines: 1.

Step 5: Simulating and Visualizing

Simulate the garment to ensure it fits the avatar correctly and visualize the finished product. This step adds life to your creation.

Step 6: Adding Graphic Design

Take it up a notch by applying a graphic design to your t-shirt. Let your creativity shine!

Step 7: Final Touches and Outro

And there you have it, Designistas! I hope you found this step-by-step tutorial helpful. If you did, give it a thumbs up, and don't forget to follow me on Encoder Fashion for more exciting videos. Thanks for watching, and happy designing!
