Introduction

Based on The Dynamics of Fashion chapter one, A Century of Fashion by Elaine Stone is very fascinating. It came from many women who knew how to sew and made their own clothes or tailor-made, but now a day many garments are made overseas. Furthermore, many new generations do not know how to sew or make clothes anymore.

More in Depth

In today's world, we evolve into buying cheap clothing and more convenience rather than making our own clothes or having tailor-made ones. Once it takes time to make our clothes. Two, to have tailor-made clothes are very expensive. Back then in the 1900’s women mostly stayed home taking care of children, so they have more free time to make their own clothes. Similar to tailor-made clothing in that era laborers were a lot cheaper than in today's world.

Conclusion

Based on our lifestyle today, we evolving to men and women work as much as the same hour, so women don’t have time to make their own clothes anymore. And we evolve into wearing comfortable clothes rather than in the 20 century many women care more about the look than the comfort. For example, Coco Chanel introduced the “little black dress,” which was a very huge change for many women at the time.
