How to Make Box Pleated Skirt CLO 3D



Hello Designistas! In this video, I will demonstrate how to create a box-pleated skirt in Clo 3D, using clear step-by-step instructions. We'll cover everything from creating the skirt patterns and applying the pleats fold to using the pleats sewing tool. Here are the instructions for making a box-pleated skirt in Clo3D

Skirt Measurement

Skirt-L: 50
Skirt-W: 60

Skirt Formula

  • 1/4 skirt pattern
  • Internal Lines: (5 x 3) + 2
  • Internal Lines: Unfold + 1

Step 1: Creating the Foundation

  • Create the fabric.
  • Create five internal lines.
  • Apply fold rendering.
  • Duplicate your design twice.
  • Add two more internal lines for added detail.

Step 2: Preparing for Pleats

  • Unfold both the waistband and the skirt pattern.
  • Add one more internal line.
  • Lock all pattern outlines for stability.
  • Apply fold rendering to all internal lines for a polished look.

Step 3: Adding the Pleats 

  • Apply the Pleats Fold feature.
  • Utilize the Pleats Sewing Tool to securely attach the waistband to the skirt.

Step 4: Bringing Your Design to Life

  • Place the patterns on the avatar to visualize the final look.
  • Complete the sewing process using the Segment Sewing Tool.
  • Strengthen your design before simulating it.

Step 5: Fine-tuning and Optimization

  • Apply the wool fabric onto the skirt
  • Change the waistband sewing line type to Custom Angle.
  • Fold Strength: 0, and Fold Angle: 0.
  • Adjust the particle distance to 7 for optimal simulation results.
